6 Fun Things to Do in Caledonia This Summer

Weekend tournaments at Henning Park. Other items: Walking the Rotary Riverside Trail, grabbing ice cream downtown, and visiting the Grand River bridge for sunset photos.

Focus: Tournament energy at Henning Park combined with local landmarks.

Introduction Caledonia is more than just a bridge and a river. In the summer of 2026, our town becomes a hub for outdoor enthusiasts and families looking for that perfect mix of relaxation and excitement. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or just visiting for a tournament, here are six things you absolutely have to do this summer.

  1. Catch the Tournament Buzz at Henning Park Even if you aren’t lacing up your cleats, there is nothing like a Saturday tournament at Henning Park. The smell of the grass, the sound of a perfect hit, and the cheers from the bleachers create a festival-like atmosphere. It’s the best place in town to enjoy the sun and support local athletes. Check our schedule to see when the next big event is happening!
  2. Explore the Rotary Riverside Trail Stretching 6km along the banks of the Grand River, this trail is Caledonia’s crown jewel for nature lovers. It’s fully accessible, making it perfect for a morning jog, a family bike ride, or a peaceful sunset walk.
  3. Cool Down with Local Treats After a hot game or a long walk, head to Argyle Street. Caledonia’s downtown is home to some incredible local ice cream spots and cafes. It’s the perfect way to support local business while beating the summer heat.
  4. Get on the Grand River You haven’t truly experienced Caledonia until you’ve been on the water. Rent a kayak or a paddleboard from Grand River Kayak and spend an afternoon drifting under our iconic bridge. It’s a completely different perspective of the town.
  5. Sunset at the Caledonia Bridge Speaking of the bridge, it’s the most photographed spot for a reason. As the sun dips below the Grand River, the view from the bridge (or the banks below) is world-class. It’s the perfect way to end a Saturday.
  6. Step onto the Diamond Yourself Watching the game is fun, but playing is better. Summer is the season of "coulda-been-pros" and casual Sunday hitters coming together.
